Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution crashed several days ago about 5-10-11. Now it shows email for months 1 & 2 of year 2010. Now cannot send or receive.

The Calander, Notes, Task and Contacts, Personnel and CouchDB, all seem to work.

Things I have done searched Google, reloaded desktop, reloaded Natty, ran 10.04 along side of Natty, all with no results. Did not find a .evolution file so I created one it shows 0 entries.

There is no problem opening my AOL from the web.

Thunderbird will load the AOL account, from Natty, but constantly sends warnings

'The current operation on "inbox" did not succeed. The mail server <email address hidden> FETCH complete'.

I got to liking Evolution because it is a PIM and when it was working was easy to use

Any suggestions on what to try next.
Thanks Cliff

What I did to solve this.
I noticed Evolution could not open certain emails from AOL. When I opened AOL it would open at a certain email. I tried to open that email and AOL notified me that it could not, so I deleted it. Then opened Evolution and found it had loaded more of the emails. Evolution loaded up to a certain email again by noting the date of the email then going back to AOL and finding this dated email and attempted to open the next newer email and found AOL could not open the email. deleted the email again and Evolution read some more.

Continued this process until Evolution loaded AoL completely.

Something happened from Evolution to AOL when Evolution was closed and crashed?

Hope this helps
Thanks Cliff

I do not know how to reproduce this.
although this is not the first time I have had trouble reading AOL in Evolution.

Presently the following bugs are similar in the fact they will not read the messages from AOL
[Bug 785797] Re: Evolution cannot read aol webmail
[Bug 797722] Re: Evolution not connecting to AOL IMAP mail
[Bug 798692] Re: Evolution cannot read messages
[Bug 799974] Re: Not retrieving messages from AOL mail

If there is some thing I can do to help lease let me know.
Thanks Cliff

in searching AOL I found further instructions on setting up using other email applications.
I added the ports :993 and :587 to the receiving and sending sections of Evolution setup.
It took Evolution about an hour to sort thru all the emails, but now seems to be working.

The only thing not working now is the cbCouch function

Thanks Cliff
