Strikethrough on Messages does not always work

Sometimes strikethrough works, but sometimes it just puts two dashes at the front and back of the Message, so it does not alphabetize correctly on the left column using Category - Messages. Using RedNotebook 1.1.1 on Windows XP SP2.

Do you enter the dashes in the center pane or in the categories view on the right?

I downloaded 1.1.6 to test this, and it still happens. I'm not entering
dashes - I'm selecting a Message in the Categories on the right panel, then
clicking on Format, then Strikethrough. I have many of these messages that
worked correctly and sort correctly in the left panel. I just can't get the
strikethrough to actually do the strikethrough of the text now.

So the steps to reproduce would be:

- Click annotate
- Enter Todo as category name
- Enter Wash as category entry
- Hit OK
- Select Wash in right column
- Click on Strikethrough in Format menu

Expected:
Todo is strikethrough

Actual result:
--Todo--

Right? Can anyone confirm this?

That's correct, except I'm using Messages instead of Todo.

I may have found the cause of this problem:

If I enter an email address in the Message "Write entry", the strikethrough
doesn't work correctly. (Example: <email address hidden>)

If I enter a disguised email address in the Message "Write entry", the
strikethrough works correctly. (Example: testatinfodotcom)

I don't know the code behind this, but it would great if it could be fixed.
