Any further information? Backtraces for example?

Could you try mupen64plus_1.5+dfsg1-16~ppa0~natty from ppa:sven-eckelmann/ppa ?

I installed the debug package, but it didn't help. Mupen64+ still crashes. I have no clue what a backtrace is or how to get one. Maybe tell me the terminal commands I should enter?

And I asked to install -16 from the ppa - did that change anything? Do they have the same backtrace? You must also install all relevant -dbg packages.

And please show the file permissions of ~/.config/mupen64plus, ~/.local/share/mupen64plus, ~/.cache/mupen64plus and bellow.

An strace log could also be interesting. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Strace

I'm clueless. Can you give me terminal commands to enter? I think I can do
that for you. However, I don't know how to get a backtrace or anything.

Please click on the links and start to read. Everything is explained in detail. For the file permissions:

$ ls -la ~/.cache/mupen64plus
$ ls -la ~/.local/share/mupen64plus
$ ls -la ~/.config/mupen64plus

And there should be a gui to add the ppa. And there should be also a command line tool http://www.ubuntugeek.com/ubuntu-tip-simplified-way-to-add-ppa-repositories-in-karmic.html
