Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Found this when testing lp:qa-regression-testing/scripts/test-pango1.0.py.

Reduced reproducer:
$ sudo apt-get install libpango1.0-dev

Then use pango-view to opened the attached file:
$ pango-view /tmp/test-long-paragraph.txt

pango-view opens as wide as the screen and at the top. It is not clickable or visible (though there might be some flickering) and must be forcibly killed. When fixing this bug you might try using pango-view on all the files in lp:qa-regression-testing/scripts/pango1.0 since several caused problems.

This is still a problem in Oneiric.

Try enabling the copy to texture plugin. It will help this situation.

@Jamie: can you try and confirm that it worked?

@Jamie: I tried this on Oneiric and wasn't able to reproduce the issue...could you please see if it's still a problem? Thank you!

copytex is now fixed, you should be able to use abnormally large windows. distro should enable this by default.

This is fixed with copytex on. After today's update it was still not on by default. When I tried to enable it in ccsm, I encountered bug #832458.
