Bug Description

Right-clicking doesn't work at all in Ubuntu 10.10 or 11.04 when using the built-in trackpad on the HP ProBook 4520s. When I plugged in my HP MG-0133 wireless mouse, everything worked perfectly fine, but the trackpad would not recognize any right clicks.

@Dylan Taylor: Thank you for reporting this bug, and help making Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, Not always we have the capacity to triage bugs on timely manner.
As a matter of fact, this bug was originally reported against kernel(linux), thus apport(the bug reporting app) collected logs and configuration files for the kernel, now as it going to confirmed as xorg's syanptics driver issue, developers will need some more files to investigate it.

To do so, please run the following command from your terminal: 'apport-collect 759331'(without quotes).

Thanks.

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

Dylan Taylor, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.

Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance.
