Bug Description
Binary package hint: texlive-base-bin
Hi.
getnonfreefonts from the texlive distribution has some problems in Edgy, which are already solved in the upstream version AFAIK. It downloads a script called getfont from ftp://tug.
if you run getnonfreefonts not as root, it can't change the map-files. This can be solved by a local map file for each user, I didn't find any solution on google or the forums how to generate a local map-file. Is this possible at all?
thanks,
Nils

Hi all!
(Debian maintainer speaking here)
The current packages in Debian fixed the invocation of getnonfreefonts to /bin/bash, which should propagate down to getfont.
If you have this problem, could you test it in the following way: Change the shebang line in /usr/bin/ getnonfreefonts from /bin/sh to /bin/bash and start the script again. Then it should work.
Concerning the second question, please take a look at the documentation of teTeX3, or TeX Live, or also TeX-on-Debian which is shipped in tex-common, and hopefully also in Ubuntu. You just have to put config files into .texmf-config.
Ciao
