Bug Description
Binary package hint: kmid
Ubuntu 6.10 german version.
Double-clicking on a mid-file showed after a couple of seconds a window (similar to add/remove programs), proposing to install
* Amarok
* KMid
I installed both. Next KMid showed up with an error-msg
"Could not open /dev/sequencer to get some info.
Probably there is another program using it."
After some investigation I found, that there is no such directory "/dev/sequencer" at all - no wonder that KMid cannot open it.
Same message is displayed when trying to go to Settings > MIDI Setup.
Gruß, Gerhard

I am having the same issue- using English version.
I have the same programs installed and of course the same message as you Gerhard-
there is no such directory "/dev/sequencer".
I have found that to be the case with other files, however if it is "probably already in use",
I believe it must exist

(last time I heard Gruß I was in Bayern- in the context of Gruß Gott)
