Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

Actually this is a long standing bug (see: http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/LLXmLnRjrthL8a2AiHcg)

When playing songs from lastfm the first two songs play just fine but the playback stops afterwards. At this point the system ask to find a plugin that can handle html-decoding. This may be related to gstreamer but just before the crash i purged banshee and gstreamer from my home folder (both as files and via gconftool).

I got two computers and this problem happens on both of them and has happend in Ubuntu for several versions. (can't say for sure but i'd guess this goes back to 9.04 at least)

The fact that banshee crashes at this point is new to 11.04 beta 1.

The fact that this problem hasn't been solved for so long is pretty annoying but i guess the cause isn't spread widely and i am one of the few suffering ...

Florian, this seems to not be a banshee problem but in any case have you tried to disabled gapless? looks like a workaround for this issue ( I found it at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=612929)

as i posted in the bugtracker updating to 2.0 (and disabling gapless
playback as good measure) solved the problem for me
