menubar cannot be used in two monitors at same time

the menubar is great when using a single monitor. however, if you add an external monitor, you still have to use the menubar on first monitor to use menus of windows in second monitor, which is not the best option IMO. To avoid this I put the menubar in two panels, one in each monitor, but then the second menubar is the only one that becomes active and the first one is not functional anymore. is there a way to have as many functional menubars as monitors? Kubuntu 12.10, 64 bit, KDE 4.10.1 via PPA, 3.5.0-25-generic

I'm having the same issue. I have two panels, one on each screen justified to the top edge. If I add the menubar widget on each, it seems as if the widget on my laptop (primary) screen is the only one that fully works. On the 2nd one, I get a "File" option at times, but it's only available feature is "close". Considering that my extended monitor is significantly more massive than my laptop, I do the majority of my work there... this makes using the menubar kind of a nuisance, because if I'm working on the 2nd display and need to utilize an option in the menubar widget, I need to swing the cursor onto the laptop and navigate accordingly.

I see this is an older bug (2011), but even on 12.10 I'm still seeing it behave identically to what avlas reported above.

Just chiming in to say that this affects me as well, in the same way described in the above comments. Using KDE SC 4.10.4 on Kubuntu 12.10.

EDIT: The issue seems to be fixed in version 0.2.0, more or less. Both menubar widgets will show the menubar for the currently focused menu; AFAIK, there's no way for each widget to show the menubar for the last active window on its respective monitor.
