advanced bug searches

One of the longest urls are the results of advanced bug searches in Launchpad. It'd really be quite helpful if it were possible to use pad.lv with these. An example of a search I'd want to shorten is:

A lot of the search constraints are empty or the default value so can just be dropped.

What would you like the pad.lv url to look like?

Really some of this should be done in lp though.

I wouldn't mind adding urls that go to "all bugs for x", or "bugs
tagged foo in x".

I am +1 on this feature request.

I don't know that we necessarily need a formulaic/algorithmic format for advanced search URLs though, since they can really be any combination of things.

How about a bit.ly like thing, where it just gets hashed into some random string?

My primary use of shortened URLs is when I want to show someone else the exact same bug list I'm looking at, ordered in the way that makes sense for the conversation we're having. I do this for things like bug walk-throughs with my team on various projects, and emailing/irc'ing a monstrous link around is a little ugly.

At the moment I'm not so keen on pad.lv getting into making hashed
short URLs; there are already very many services that do this and I'm
not sure what I could add. I suppose it would have the benefit of
promising you the link went somewhere on Launchpad and not to goatse.
What else is wrong with just using eg bit.ly?

I want to steer in pad.lv for something different which is URLs people
can make up by hand and also where they can see immediately what the
URL will lead to.

For instance bam's link could turn into something like
http://pad.lv/bugs/u/nautilus which I think is rather better than a
hash, though slightly longer.

I think the main thing here is bug 325982, about lp generating such long urls in the first place.

We could possibly have a bookmarklet or similar that cuts out the redundant bits.

Seconding this... I would love to see pad.lv support tags at a minimum... something like:

pad.lv/b/tags=foo,bar,baz
