Bug Description

Binary package hint: mscore

when importing the attached (but incorrect) musicxml file exported from rosegarden 10, musescore abruptly exits with the .xsession-errors reporting

2cannot parse <1.0>
registerPlugin: add action idx 7
Load plugin: no menu property
preferences.checkUpdateStartup: 720
lastupdate: 26.03.2011 09:33:37.158
Import MusicXml:xmlScorePart: cannot find part A

even if the musicxml file is invalid, I think the program should report the error and continue, not abort.

this is using the very latest debian-backport mscore 1.0 as downloaded via apt this morning using the ppa given in the mscore documentation, and running on a Ubuntu 10.04.2

I just tested the process again, this time using a freshly generated musicxml file which does contain the A part (the score only contains the A part, the others were not done and the intention was to migrate the work to mscore) -- the program aborts again, this time with

Reassigning to musescore so that this gets looked at. "mscore" is an old, transitional package. Please file bugs directly against the "musescore" package in future.
