Synaptic closes if password is incorrectly enters, without feedback

When opening synaptic package manager if password is entered incorrectly program will close with no error message or information

Steps to reproduce:
Open Synaptic
Type in wrong password

What happens : synaptic closes
What should happen: synaptic prompts that password is wrong and asks you to try again
