and verify that the levels for mic are at maximum or at a reasonable level, use arrow to move.

Hi, you helped me with a microphone issue via email on march 21st. As I cant
use the help and support through ubuntu I had no choice but to email an
issue to you from another computer. Over the past couple of days my ubuntu
10.10 started to slow down. Last night it froze and crashed. It now takes
roughly 4hours to boot to a blank screen in which i can only open a new
folder against the background but have no control over movement of the
window. I am also not able to access anything or open anything from there.
Furthermore it seems to have downloaded, by itself 7gigs of data filling my
hard drive and capping my flats internet. At the time of the crash I was
gaming (nexuiz). Is this a common occurance with ubuntu? I hope not. and do
you have a recommended fix? or have I been hacked or some sought? I know you
probably can't do much from where you areand quite possible aren't the
person to ask but from the description is this a common or at the
least fixable problem? This is fairly important too me as my dissertation
research, university work and four years of photos are all on that
harddrive. It appears to still be there but i cant use anything.
