Bug Description

Ubuntu 10.10 desktop i386 - default settings (GNOME desktop)

The Window border fo the active windows (the selected one, the one with focus) is same as the border of inactive windows, except a slight change in the shade of gray and the orange color of the close button.

It appears like a copy of the Windows Aero beahvior.

Please don't do that (copy Windows blindly).
Think first !

At least the behavior of selected menu item was not copied (light blue for all items, slightly slightly darker nuance of light blue for the selected item - the difference is practically invisible on typical low cost LCD screens ).

Please fix this.

(I know there are other themes that are different, but this the default theme which is used by many many users)

I respectfully disagree.

This is something that worked for decades just fine.

It is a regression.

1. I am running Ubuntu 11.04 now
2. It is (was) the default settings. You get them when booting any Ubuntu CD. Why do you need a report for?

If you're getting getting the same decoration when the activity state
of the window changes then this is most likely an issue with the
driver not sending us damage events on the pixmap.

If you resize an inactive window (try Alt + Middle Mouse), does the
decoration change to the "inactive" state once its done resizing?

Please read the original report.
The problem is not that the window does not get the correct decoration, but that the active and inactive are almost identical.

OK then, thought it was something else. Nevermind.

Subscribing ayatana-design so they can have a look at it :)
