Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Launch pad is my favorite file manager. Somehow it is no more the default browser. When I uninstall Dolphin, documents photo's etc are not found under "places". When I click "computer" under places Launchpad opens correctly. Also, Dolphin uninstalled, files can not be opened from within Picasa.
How can I make launchpad my default browser again.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Thank you for your prompt reaction.
I am sorry but I have not the slightest idea how this problem arose. To my
mind it started after trying the Dolphin file manager. I have been
uninstalling Openoffice 3.2 English version and installing Openoffice 3.3.
NL version. some steps were taken by copying command lines from an ubuntu
forum to the terminal. But I can not imagine how all this could have caused
the problem in question.
Fact is that when I uninstall Dolphin there is no file manager associated
with for example place-documents. The only thing you see is the little wheel
turning for 1/2 a minute, but no file manager will open. Whereas
when clicking Places-Computer the Launch pad will open correctly.
Is there an easy way to repair the launchpad?
Thank you for your in advance for your reply,

Roel van den Houten

seems rather a local configuration issue, launchpad is a internet site not something you can run on your computer, seems you right click on a directory and selected to open those with a different soft and asked for it to be default
