Bug Description

Screen resolution defaults to 1024x768 and there is no option for 1400x900 in the drop-down list. I have referred to several books to try to rectify this, but cannot find any reference to it. I do not have a graphics card as my motherboard has onboard intel graphics. What can I do about this? Surely I'm not the only person with this problem?

My apologies for the typo - my screen resolution is 1440x900, but Linux Mint
10 KDE desktop defaults to 1024x768. This means that everything is HUGE,
making things more than a little awkward.

In the attached screenshot, you can see Digikam is open but not maximised. I
am unable to alter the margins to make the centre panel larger because Mint
is using the wrong screen resolution.

Is there any way to fix this so that everything isn't huge? Any more than
three programs open and the panel runs out of space!
