Bug Description

It is not possible to comment a meeting like the events.

It sould be great to add this feature because not everyone can attend to a meeting.

These comments can serve to give an opinion on the items of the agenda for example when someone can't be present at a meeting.

Isn't discussion on agenda items normally suposed to happen on MLs?

I'm not sure comments in LD are the best way to communicate one's opinions on a particular agenda item. Those can be brought up in the channel later, in the mailing list as Chris said, or added as their own agenda item for the next meeting. Especially while LD isn't able to send out emails, comments aren't a reliable way of making your opinion known.

I'm going to mark this as "Won't fix" for now, until a use case is presented that can justify it.

Changed in loco-directory:
status: New → Won't Fix

How a user can know where he have to discuss about the agenda items ? There is no references in the meeting page to that. And there is no description field to put a link also.

The events have an annoncement field, we could make a similar link to the official meeting page/mailing list/forum/wiki/... I can open a new bug for that if you want.

By the way, if we let team members add agenda items it's to use the meeting page as an agenda for the meeting. The chairman can also read those comments before the start of the meeting.

I believe team members can also edit the description section to add their comments in that.. Similar to how blueprints on LP work... Going to leave this as wontfix as I still don't believe a use case has been presented.

I never assume a user is a member of the team. Not every LoCo team uses LP for list all their users.

If you want a use case I can provide one.

Our french documentation is writted by french people living all around the world and who are in various LoCo teams (ubuntu-fr, ubuntu-qc, ubuntu-ma, ubuntu-tn, ...). If we plan a meeting about the french documentation, and if we use the locodirectory to centralize the informations (date, agenda, channel), actualy this is impossible for someone not in the members of the launchpad locoteam to add an item, or change the description of an item, or only give is thought on the agenda items. Actually our team uses a wiki page to make that kind of comments possible.

We currently don't support non LoCo Teams using LoCo Directory for team meetings.. The "French Documentation Team" is not a LoCo Team. It was discussed during development about allowing non-team members to add agenda items and it was determined through discussion between the devs and members of the LC, as well as input from other members in #ubuntu-locoteams that if a non-team member wanted to add an agenda item, that person would need to contact someone on the team to add the agenda item for them.
