Bug Description
Binary package hint: unity
Whenever I launch an application from the Launcher, what appears to be a shadow instead appears as this ugly, translucent box around the application's icon. On a side note, the x button that appears on the icon when you drag it far enough away from the launcher is barely visible on some occasions, such as dragging it out onto a white web page. There should be some sort of shadow or other contrast so that the X icon is visible on all backgrounds, etc. Screenshot included for reference.

There are 2 bugs here. One is about the appearance, which needs to be checked but is a design aspect. Adding ayatana-design to the bug to make sure this is checked against the signed off visuals.
The rendering of the X cross is another one.
