Bug Description

I recently installed ndisgtk and removed it later again with --purge. But this didn't remove this file /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper.conf which causes, that my wireless LAN driver doesn't load automatically.

Shouldn't "apt-get remove --purge" remove all config files?

I experienced this and removed the file manually. Now. reinstalling the various ndiswrapper packages doesn't seem to replace the file, either. I'm not quite sure what's happening here.

Oh, should be noted, as I didn't realize when I posted this - the file is created by running ndiswrapper, not during the install process. When not using ndiswrapper-gtk, it's created by running (as root) ndiswrapper -mi.

This will be fixed in some time. I am working on changing the packaging to move all userspace parts into the ndiswrapper package (currently split in -utils-1.9 and -common), after which I can add the removal on purge to a maintainer script.

I did not add it yet, as the directory is basically co-owned by -common and -utils-1.9, and I did not want to break anything.

A fix has been committed in the Debian packaging repository (in the branch wip/dh9). A future update will include that fix.

Oops, I was wrong. I meant the "/etc/ndiswrapper remaining" thing was fixed. But anyway, I just committed a fix for this as well and uploaded it to Debian in 1.59-5, which should hopefully hit the archive soon and will then be automatically synced into Ubuntu.
