This bug was fixed in the package thunderbird - 3.1.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu3

Chris, it looks like Google has this fixed in a project that is now independent of and used by breakpad

I did wonder whether it had already been fixed after I hit the reply button on Launchpad, as we don't have this issue with Firefox.

I am not sure how closely mozilla follow upstream breakpad, maybe tbird and firefox do not use the same versions?

They use the same version, but the reason we have an issue here is that we're using Thunderbird based from gecko 1.9.2, and Firefox based on gecko 2.0
