Bug Description

Binary package hint: libreoffice

Start LibreOffice (I've tried the generic start center, and the word processor), right click on it in the Launcher and click keep in Launcher, close the app, click the launcher icon for the app. It wibbles for a bit, then goes blank, the app doesn't launch.

thank you for your bug report, how did you start the writer? the icon starts it correctly there, it doesn't seem to match the running instance to display the small arrow though

You're right, it works in the latest version but doesn't indicate the number
of windows.

Here, the writer/calc launcher work (didn't try the others, bu they should work too). Only the start center doesn't work. But, if I recall correctly, this launcher doesn't appear in the gnome menu by default. So, it should just be disabled. Otherwise, it won't work, since the start center can't be launched twice, at least the "open a new window" menu will *never* work.

I just tried the procedure and confirm that. I used right-click "open with.." on a text file to start writer (as there is no libreoffice-writer program etc.). After I do the "keep in launcher", I get a pale white icon, but unity doesn't actually see it in its favourites:

$ gsettings get com.canonical.Unity.Launcher favorites
['nautilus.desktop', 'gtimelog.desktop', 'devhelp.desktop', 'mumble.desktop', 'shotwell.desktop', 'firefox.desktop', 'evolution.desktop']

Sebastien tried that with launching it from the gnome-panel menu, and he gets "libreoffice-writer.desktop" in above command.

I'm closing the LibO task, as it shouldn't require application patches to make things work with the Launcher (that would break a lot of third-party apps, backports, and an unknown number of universe packages, too).
