Bug Description
Binary package hint: apport
We have setup reprepro to mirror the Ubuntu Lucid repository (lucid, lucid-updates and lucid-security).
This is mainly because we are adding minor changes to packages, i.e. ca-certificates to include our company certs.
However, kernel, applications and all the other stuff is left from Ubuntu Lucid.
Obviously, reprepro signs the repository with a different gpg key than the one used for Lucid.
Lastly however, I tried to report a bug in the audio support of Dell E6410 docking station with and ran into a bug in apport. There is an error message "Problem in alsa-base": "The problem cannot be reported" "This is not a genuine Ubuntu package".
Obviously this is not true. The kernel, alsa-base package, pulseaudio, all kernel modules come from Lucid. I changed the sources.list to the one that originally came with Lucid, apt-get update (no 'apt-get upgrade') and reported the problem fine.
Hi,
Thanks for reporting this bug.
This bug is a duplicate of #497796, comment 10 in that bug points to this (https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/apport/ +bug/497796/ comments/ 10).
If you haven't run apt-get update (ie no package cache) or use a mirror, apport detection of non-official packages does not work.
Marking this one as a duplicate.
Thanks,
Tom
