pure data msd doesn't work correctly

Bug Description

Upon loading, for example, msd example '02_msd2Dadd'. It generates a stream of:
error: msd2D - link : Index not found
in the pd console.

I have been in contact with the author Nicolas Montgermont who is equally baffled without access to the msd.h file used to build the object. All the tests we have run with msd have failed and it appears that although msd is building the masses, though they are then deleted before msd has the chance to connect the links (at least this is my interpretation).
Pure data list thread 'msd puredyne errors' 19.1.11. for the full discussion.

I would be delighted if you could inform we of when this has been looked at, as I am in the middle of a project using msd and would like to switch back to being able to use it within Puredyne as soon as/ or if you peeps have any wisdom about helping to sort it.

All good wishes,

Julian

Hi Julian,

this is really specific to msd and the best way to figure out what is going on would be if Nicolas gets in touch with us directly, via mail or IRC.

I CC Claude and Chun to this bug. They have been packaging most of the externals, maybe they can also check if a new pd-msd can be made from a code checkout.

What do you think guys?

Cheers Aymeric, much appreciated.

I wrote to Nicolas a couple of days ago but haven't had any responses as of
yet. Another unrelated msd question came up on the pd list as well and he
hasn't responded to that either, making me think he's not around for
whatever reason.

I guess the obvious one would be to rebuild the msd object but it's a bit
outside of my knowledge. Not in front of my machine atm but of the top of
my head I think you have top build flext first then msd. I got stuck
straight away when I couldn't locate the pd sourcefiles location.

Thanks for weighing in with this and regards to all,

Julian

Is msd working fine in Gazpacho?

I have jumped ship back to [pmpd] as [msd] is now unsupported/dead with the
msd objects integrated into the latest version of pmpd:

I built pmpd from svn for my test version of gazpacho so am unsure which
version is currently packaged for Puredyne but I, possibly wrongly, presumed
that Claude and Chun would have also spotted Cyrille's announcement?

Cheers,

J.

OK I close this bug then, not sure that Claude and Chun will have packaged the latest one though. To check with them :)
