the thrue message box is :

" Enlightenment Error

This is very bad. Enlightenment has segfaulted.
This is not meant to happen and is likely a sign of a bug in Enlightenment or the librairies it relies on.

You can gdb attach to this process now to try debug it or you could exit, or just hit restart to try and get your desktop back the way it was. This may not always work perfectly, but it is the best we can do for now.

Please help us debug this by compiling Enlightenment and all its dependency librairies with gdb debugging enable and attach to E when this happens and try figure out what's going on and set us gdb backtraces, variable dumps."

I'm not sure but I already had this bug with others applications or others situation, I remenber not. If I remenber I create a message here.

No, it's not possible to edit afaik.
Indeed, enna will be a good app and I hope it will be ready soon :)

Gael, could you give us the exact steps to reproduce the fullscreen problem ? Hopefully we'll be albe to get a backtrace and report the issue to upstream authors

to reproduce the fullscreen problem is very easy.

To lauch a video and apply the fullscreen mode, in this moment the E17 crash and propose a message box error :

you've too choice :

_ recover (F2)
_ exit (I don't remenber the exact touch)

if you press F2 the application is debugg and continu with the fullscreen (on my computer the sound don't apply here).

Sorry if I repeats things already known or said but I'm just arriving in this site.

Applications I want to suggest :

  * A little synaptic like gnome ubuntu style,
  * A panel like epanel (not too animate but enough beautifully)
  * A real file manager ( because E file it isn't powerful yet )
           konqueror or other ...
  * unfortunately in Europe the most used instant messenger is msn
           this is why amsn should be present with kopete or gaim
           Remarque: amsn icons don't work very well with container windows
                             because I think the name of these change for each... container_1, container_2,...
  * xmms is cool but personally i use some time amarok (xine don't work)
  * xchat needed !
  * vlc is powerful and cool !

Options it need :

  * Transparency can be apply to shelf ?
  * Native other theme, and gtk theme too
  * Other Clock theme into shelf
  * Other icons for volume module into shelf !
  * When introduce address location and press enter that don't jump into good folder (for e17 application)

Bugs reported :

 * When i scroll into virtual desktop module it pass two desktops instead of one. I think it is because scroll two lines on each scroll...

For the moment it's the only bugs I see, this distribution is beautiful and perfect ! I love enlightenment and I love ubuntu a mix from both is perfection !

Hello, thanks for your report

/*offtopic, do not reply in this bugreport*/
Please next time split bugs and apps suggests as they aren't related at all.
For your mouse issue, it's most likely an issue with your settings as it's ok for me, you should check your mouse config (2-lines scrolling might be the cause)
/*Closes offtopic*/

For the apps ou suggested, remember that ebuntu is 100% based on ubuntu and AFAIK, no package has been removed (except the gnome pkges and maybe nautilus), so synaptic and gaim are already in there ;) (and maybe xchat as well)
note: I personnaly love GTK. we didn't remove gnome to put QT-based apps, so i doubt we'll provide amarok by default; But remeber you can install any software on the ubuntu repos using apt or synaptic
about elpanel: I'm not a dev, neither is Sp4rKy, so it might not exist for a while

The other things you're talking about are artwork and configuration concerns and I won't discuss them here (art should have its dedicated thread and this is not the place for config questions)

Thanks fro your report ;)

        Of course Synaptic will be included

        What is it exactly ? ibar aren't enough ?

 * A real file manager ( because E file it isn't powerful yet )
           konqueror or other ...
        Konqueror _won't_ be added, but i think i'll include smthg like Rox or Thunar

  * unfortunately in Europe the most used instant messenger is msn
           this is why amsn should be present with kopete or gaim
           Remarque: amsn icons don't work very well with container windows
                           because I think the name of these change for each... container_1, container_2,...
           Amsn is a bit not enough light. I think gaim will be included. It's light and support both jabber & msn acocunt (and many others)
           Of course, we wait for the EFL based instant messaging software :)

  * xmms is cool but personally i use some time amarok (xine don't work)
           I don't know if i'll include xmms, bmp or not. Indeed, the Eclair player works fine for basic listenning

  * xchat needed !
           Indeed

  * vlc is powerful and cool !
           I think it 'll be in Elbuntu

Options it need :

  * Transparency can be apply to shelf ?
           Pseudo transparency can, and real transparency with composite

  * Native other theme, and gtk theme too
           I don't think we'll include all the theme in the distro base, but we can create a package with both E17 and GTK theme (or only for E17 theme, like i think this kind of package already exists for gtk)

  * Other Clock theme into shelf
           All module would be included, with digital clock :)

  * Other icons for volume module into shelf !
           Why not :)

  * When introduce address location and press enter that don't jump into good folder (for e17 application)

Anyway, like Albin said, for artwork question/suggest, please post a bug to the artwork team.

thx

elpanel is the configuration panel of elivecd, the debian based e17 distro. Uses a very nice edje GUI. Lots of great animations, but doesn't fit every themes.
Most of its features are included in the E configuration panel now, but some others (like users management) are not.

About the file manager, i don't think Rox or Thunar would be a good choice, as they come with xfce libs. Gtk libs are allready included (used by synaptic, xchat, or firefox), so maybe a stripped down version of nautilus could be great. I'm not a big fan of it though.

Mantas Kriaučiūnas (mantas) wrote : File/desktop manager and automounting of removable media for Elbuntu

I think pcmanfm or xfe file managers are very good candidates for Elbuntu file/desktop manager. Pcmanfm has an option to enable showing files/application lauchers (.desktop files) from user's ~/Desktop folder. Also pcmanfm supports autodetection (through hal) and mounting of removable media (pmount package must be installed for this).
Btw, pcmanfm is very small in size (package takes less than 250kb !) and depends only on basic gtk2 and hal libraries !

Besides file manager it would be nice to have and removable media automounting daemon - I think *ivman* would be the best candidate, as AFAIK E17 doesn't have any software for automounting.

pcmanfm seems great ! I'll try it tonight, but I'm already fan of the concept.

i have read somewhre that there is a Mplayer port

Libplayer

Mplayer to instrictions.. to a library... great!

i mean, Enna uses it.. so, why don't have a media center to manage audio, Pictures and video...

then we don't need other app like audio players or VLC...

maybe we should put our efforts to make Enna the Media Solution for Elbuntu, thing ths never have existed in ubuntu
I know Elisa Media Center exist for ubuntu and Kubuntu, but it's not a part of the Ubuntu-core.

Media Apps + Ubuntu + Eye-cady = Elbuntu right?
