Failed to initialize VBI slicer for teletext & VPS

Binary package hint: nxtvepg

Since I upgraded from kubuntu dapper to kubuntu edgy, nxtvepg isn't working anymore.
If I start the application in a konsole, it gives the message: Failed to initialize VBI slicer for teletext & VPS
The application gives an error message when I enable acquisition:
Failed to start acquisition:(Internal error, please report. Try to restart the application).
But no chance, it wouldn't work.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.

It seems to me that this is a regression in the bttv driver, which is part of the kernel. Could you please attach the output of the 'dmesg' command and/or your /var/log/kern.log to this bug? I suspect that this bug is the same as http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=362153, but I want to be sure.

I have the same problem using nxtvepg 2.7.6 on kubuntu edgy. I'll try to add some logs.

I think its necessary to merge this one with Bug # 199879 because the both discribe that the delivered nextview package is too old! since Kernel 2.6.16 Nextview 2.8.x is needed

It got fixed before package removal. Closing as Fixed Released.
