Hi, the problem is that when I start GAJ every column is empty: the application doesn't track anything of the activity like opening images with eye of gnome, or listening to the music, or editing documents etc...
I installed specific extensions for eog or gedit: whatever it seems it doesn't work.
Maybe I forgot something to install?
P.S.

Stefano Candori (cando) wrote : | #3 |
Mmm..that's strange. Anyway if you have installed Ubuntu tweak check this answer https:/
Otherwise launch in a terminal "zeitgeist-daemon --replace"; try to open and motify something and tell me if in this terminal appear something like : "Inserted 1 event".
P.S
Sisi meglio scrivere in inglese...in ogni modo dimmi qualcosa che ti rispondo domani se non hai ancora risolto...ora vado a letto... :)

Ok, it seems i has added events:
DEBUG:zeitgeist
DEBUG:zeitgeist
But GAJ starts and doesn't show nothing. By now, it freezes and doesn't allow me to use it. So I have to kill it.
From terminal it shows something new:
self.combobox = gtk.combo_
/usr/share/
GIO_FILES[subj] = object.
/usr/share/
self.
Stefano Candori (cando) wrote : | #5 |
Ok i get those warnings too, so that is not the problem...
Try to do that: "zeitgeist-daemon --replace" in a terminal....open GAJ and then past here __all__ the text that is shown.
Stefano Candori (cando) wrote : | #6 |
Sorry for the double post: i mean past here all the text that is shown in the terminal where you've launched "zeitgeist-daemon".

It seems to work properly...Other try: download and try the trunk version from here:https:/
Follow the instructions and tell me if it works.
Meanwhile i'll think to what is causing this bug...:)
Stefano Candori (cando) wrote : | #10 |
before doing what i've just said try this: sudo apt-get install appmenu-gtk
joshg (joshg) wrote : | #11 |
I installed appmenu-gtk (wich I had recently uninstalled due to its presumed futility) and now the error has become this:
** Message: pygobject_

self.
But GAJ freezes. I'll install the trunk version

Well, now the warning are "normal" because i get these too.
Btw at the moment i've no clue on why it's freezing...tell me as soon as
you've tested the trunk version.

I installed it doing this:
To download it:
mkdir ~/zeitgeist; cd ~/zeitgeist
bzr get lp:zeitgeist; bzr get lp:gnome-activity-journal
Now to start it:
~/zeitgeist/
~/zeitgeist/
When I start zeitgeist-

from zeitgeist.datamodel import (Event, Subject, TimeRange, StorageState,
File "/home/

And if I start GAJ:

If i run "make" it says that there's no makefile (that's true).

ok before doing make you should run ./autogen.sh

have you copied the file extension/
directory of GAJ in /home/joshg/
(apparently no:

user extensions in: /home/joshg/

)
And looking to your debug of GAJ it seems you're launching the system
installed one and not the trunk version...

Hi joshg! Thanks for your bug report.
Btw i've not completely understood your problem: the Activity Journal starts or crashes before starting?
And if it starts, your problem is that it doesn't show any activities like opening and modifying a file?
