Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Tiling windows via Compiz Grid plugin is the same as "maximizing" them to an area constrained by other "tiles".
The intention is to tile windows, maximizing their efficient usage of a side (left|right) or maybe also of a "quadrant" of physical display.

In this understanding, window corners should be drawn straight and not rounded on tiled windows.
Rounded corners will still look good on floating windows.

Thanks for your bug report. Is this still an issue with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal? May you please check and comment back? Thanks in advance!.

well.. this issue is obviously being handled in Precise, thanks a lot for that!

Using the alpha, i noticed that the window corners are no longer round when tiling windows to either the left half or to the right half of a screen.

It still doesn't work properly for vertical stacking of tiles.

thanks for making this better :)

I know it looks better in precise right now, but unfortunately that is due to bug 924736. After we fixed that bug, this problem returned (which you will see in a precise update some time soon).

I agree, it would be nice for semi-maximized / grid-placed windows to lose the round corners still. But a different fix (and design feedback) is required.

Ideally what we should have is custom styles for semi-maximized windows
