Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

When we do a first-run setup of Unity, we currently look at Gnome Panel and Nautilus desktop for launchers of "favourite" apps to include in the Unity launcher.

This scan should be extended to cover other popular launchers, like AWN and Docky, in all their Cairo and GL-loving forms.

Most folks with a custom launcher, who upgrade from Maverick to Natty will no doubt want to stay with the latest version of that preferred launcher. But they may also want to try Unity, and when they do, it would be cool if their favourite apps are pre-populated in the launcher.

Neat idea, will have a try at that and add cairo-dock to the list as well :)

It wasn't mentioned, so you'll have to excuse me if it was included. But Cairo-dock should be included in that list. It has D-bus and a remote api, so it should be easy for you guys. :)

Hey Corey, see my comment there: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/692967/comments/1 and the merge request as well ;) It's taken into account :)
Thanks for the head's up and do not hesitate if you think about additional docks that we can include

  * New upstream release.
   - Window border doesn't get restored (LP: #691812)
   - When a menu is triggered from Alt+key, app name stays visible on panel
     (LP: #691765)
   - show the launcher on <Super> KeyPress, this will be needed when the
     shortcut will be implemented if we are in intellihide mode
   - Make sure an underscore is correctly placed under the corresponding
     accelerator-key. (LP: #683427)
   - Adding a dummy --replace option for compatibility reason (LP: #692569)
   - Compiz crashed with SIGSEGV in CompWindow::id() (LP: #694945)
   - Tooltip text not vertically centered (LP: #697791)
   - Maximizing a window horizontally or vertically removes the title bar
     (LP: #696780)

      with the current vala/gir stack. THIS NEED TO BE REMOVED.

  * debian/libunity3.symbols:
    - updated
