Hi, why do you feel this is a unity problem as well? I see that the bug is linked to both compiz and unity?

Ie, can you confirm that the bug happens only when unity is used, which doesn't seem to be the case in the video.

could you try 'unity --reset' so that your compiz settings are restored and try to reproduce the issue. It rather seems related to wobbly windows.

It is related to wobbly windows, which we are not supporting right now.

Ever since Natty (clean install) I see this bug as well.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable Wobbly Windows
2. Maximise any window
3. Trigger Expo (e.g. via Unity's launcher)
4. Double-click the desktop with the maximised window
5. Trigger Expo again → window screwed

The source for this problem appears to be the double-clicking part.

@Sam: Wobbly Windows is in compiz-plugins not even -main or -extra.
In other words, it's part of the standard plugins that come with Compiz by default.
So it either should be supported or moved to -extra.

In the mean time you could blank out the 'Move Windows' text field in the Wobbly Windows settings.

I have the same problem and this solution fixes it for me but I'm using Classic Ubuntu11.04 and not unity, so let me know if this fixes it for you guys.

Go to “Wobbly Windows”.

The next to last last line is “Move Windows”. The default is “Toolbar | Menu | Utility | Dialog | Normal | Unknown”

We want to turn off Wobbliness for maximized windows. So we’re going to surround the default statement in brackets and add
     "& !state=maxvert"

So it should look like this

(Toolbar | Menu | Utility | Dialog | Normal | Unknown) & !state=maxvert

This fixes it for me.
