isn't this happening? We should really send a string over as well upon signup to make sure its them...

this needs to be configurable or controllable in the settings. that is
important and/or for now it needs to ask if should email, for every
chance of an email getting sent out.

oh it's not a confirmation email actually just welcome email, reopening and moving to 0.3

The meaning of this feature is that we confirm that the email address is correct, valid and owned by the person signing up.

It seems that this should be a built-in feature of Aiki much as ResetPassword is.

For PPL however, Owners are created by Admins and People by Owners; there is no public sign-up process and hence no need to confirm emails as such (if the targets receive the sign-up email all that is confirmation enough).

It's more useful if users want to update their email to something that isn't in the db. So we still need a roundtrip process in Aiki kind of like ResetPassword. Brad may be attempting something close in the People sign-up circuit.

a built in feature of aiki can create a rand key by using :rand after the title of a hidden or auto field, then this rand key can be sent via email, and if the user clicked on the link of the email (that has the rand value e.g: pple.aikilab.com/verify?key=[some rand value]) the value of verified (either new field or using the one that exists now) change from 0 to 1

Yes, Bassel told me about this a few nights ago & I can confirm this works & is implemented on the ppl invites. sql no longer generates the random key & includes in the url. It's all done behind the scenes in the aiki form & passed directly to the e-mail as it's inserted in the db.
