clock-applet doesn't alert user of EDS version mismatch

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The clock-applet's calendar displays no events if gnome-panel was built against a different version of EDS than installed when the API breaks. It should probably display a user level notification of this so users don't think their calendar is actually gone. Perhaps the calendar GUI could be replaced with an icon of a question mark or broken link or something.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance and sorry for the late response.

Hey Pedro, I'm not running Natty, so this is difficult to confirm there. This bug will happen regardless of the distribution version. It isn't dependent on that. It's dependent on the version mismatch between the ESD server and the calender clock applet. Did you read the upstream message?
