Binary package hint: gnome-panel
The clock-applet's calendar displays no events if gnome-panel was built against a different version of EDS than installed when the API breaks. It should probably display a user level notification of this so users don't think their calendar is actually gone.

Perhaps the calendar GUI could be replaced with an icon of a question mark or broken link or something.
