I've made mod-gearman packages from 0.14, available at http://people.debian.org/~ssm/debs/unstable/source/

I added one IPv6 fix to debian/patches, from https://bugs.launchpad.net/gearmand/+bug/635476 (A struct sockaddr isn't big enough to hold an ipv6 address)

@Monty Taylor
Since this affects drizzle, I was wondering if this is ok to upgrade.

It actually doesn't affect drizzle really.. at some point it might have
but drizzle moved away from using gearman very early on.

As an upstream dev on gearman and somebody who is interested in seeing
it succeed, I'll go ahead and package up the newer version.

Just to clarify even further, the drizzle gearman plugins aren't really affected by this. The new version of gearman and libgearman should work fine with it.

@dupondje

There were some files dropped from the Debian dir that are not mentioned in the changelog, I"m wondering if these changes were intentional or not:
libgearman-doc.doc-base.api
libgearman-doc.doc-base.dev

Also, the make docs was dropped from debian/rules, same question

0.24 depends on libmemcached >= 0.51.
We don't have this neither in debian or ubuntu.

So version 0.24 is not possible atm.
