tremulous-server starts on system startup, by default

Bug Description

When I install a server for a network game, I don't expect that package to add an init script that defaults to starting!

Combined with the bug where the server uses 100% of cpu, this is kind of problematic ;)

I think the simplest thing to do is add a flag to /etc/default/tremulous-server like "ENABLED" and have that default to false.

I agree that this is a bug. My CPU usage is quite high on startup now, and as soon as I do: sudo /etc/init.d/tremulous-server stop , I get my CPU back ;).

In the meantime, I'm going to disable this for my machine.

Or just drop the init script.

Anyone running a public server should NOT be using this package.
Aside from it being years out of date, they wont get any help from the tremulous community or be able to follow any of the guides etc, as no files will be where we think they should be etc.

If you really want to ship a server that can work on the net, at least upgrade to this: http://www.tremulous.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5873

This bug was reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of bug #109434, as this issue appears to affect multiple games. This may have been the wrong decision, please comment here if you believe it was.
