Bug Description

OpenOffice.org 3.2.1
OOO320m19 (Build:9505)
ooo-build 3.2.1.4, Ubuntu package 1:3.2.1-7ubuntu1

Help on Special Characters ( using Ubuntu 10.10 with the Dutch language ) mentions Crtl+Shift+S to call the insert Special Characters menu. Instead it calls the save-file menu.
No big personal problem because i allocated the F3 key to invoke the Special Characters menu, but still sloppy and a problem for starters.

Copy of the dutch text in question: "U kunt in elk tekstinvoerveld (zoals de invoervelden in het dialoogvenster Zoeken en vervangen) op Shift+Ctrl+S drukken om het dialoogvenster Speciale tekens op te roepen."

Kind Regards,
Peter

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Launchpad doesn't have a package openoffice.org-help-nl, so I'm assigning this to openoffice.org instead. I can confirm the bug is in the english version as well.

Unfortunate i do this for you folks and not for me.

Step 1: start Open Office Writer
Step 2: click 'help' in the menu
Step 3: search for 'insert special characters'
Step 4: Read the provided text
Step 5: Considder the option of actually using the provided info, decide
yes.
Step 6: Press Ctl+Shift+S and see a window opening
Step 7: Compare the open 'save file' menu with the description in the
help-text
Step 8: Notice the discrepenty between the promised 'insert special
character'-menu and the open 'save file' menu

You could have figured that out yourself, couldn't you?

Peter

[This is an automated message.]
There are no new official OpenOffice.org releases in Ubuntu packaging anymore => Won't Fix

If the problem persists, please mark this bug as "also affects project Libreoffice" or "also affects distribution Libreoffice (Ubuntu)" if that has not happened already.

Please leave references to upstream OpenOffice.org bugs in place to allow cross pollination.
