Google Earth has caught signal 6.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but Google Earth has crashed.

This is a bug in the program, and should not happen under normal circumstances. A bug report and debugging data have been written to the text file:
/home/tan/.googleearth/crashlogs/crashlog-4cc7e310.txt

Please include this file if you submit a bug report to Google.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Can you tell me how to uninstall the google earth icon as i have tried but
cant'. thanks.

Hi Tan, you can remove the package named 'googleearth' with synaptic package manager under System->Administration, or Ubuntu Software Center under Applications.

Note that this tutorial spells out how to install the latest version of google earth and it may work better for you:
