Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Name of the site in the titlebar stays stuck in the old site: by putting the mouse over the titlebar it refreshes instantly: or also by pressing 'print screen' (take a look at the two pics: same site, two different titles, title changed just after pressing 'print screen').
Cheers,
M.A.

This isn't a firefox bug - I've noticed this quite frequently in other tabbed applications too (eg, gedit)

affects: firefox (Ubuntu) → ubuntu

hello
Have you compiz enabled?
If yes could you desable it by setting no effect in system - preference - appearance - visual effect to see if the problem is compiz related?
Thanks
Fabio

I have still same problem in Ubuntu 10.10. It happens in various applications using tabs (Nautilus, Gedit, Firefox) when I have Compiz enabled. Titlebar is also correctly refreshed when it's covered by another window or by some menu. I have Intel graphics card on Acer Extensa 5220. I have no other problems with Compiz.

Hello Lukáš Machyán
Can you reproduce this issue without special effect?

Hi,
Titlebar works well when I change Window manager from Compiz to Metacity using Compiz Fusion Icon. I think that Compiz doesn't redraw titlebar in mentioned case sometimes. Titlebar can be redrawn in the ways mentioned above. When non-redrawn titlebar is covered with Gnome menu (and then uncovered), only part of titlebar where the menu (and its shade) was, is redrawn.

I have found similar bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/670430
Could this bug be same? I can see partially redrawn titlebar there too.

I'm getting this in 11.04, however mousing over the titlebar doesn't make it redraw. The only way to get it to redraw is either make the window lose focus or maximize.

This issue is not limited to tabbed applications; I've found that totem, nautilus, and GIMP all exhibit the same behaviour. (See bug 810423)
