Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-firmware-nonfree

i am using linux-firmware-nonfree 1.8 for a dvb usb device to see tv with "metv".
The device is an AverMedia Volar
or as "lsusb" says:
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 07ca:a815 AVerMedia Technologies, Inc.
or as "metv" says:
Afatech AF9013 DVB-T

The problem is that if you have plugged when is off the laptop, and you switch on the computer, ubuntu crash on start-up.

You need to unplugg the usb device to restart the computer. Then ubuntu is enable to start.

im not complete sure, but, i have tested different kernel versions and everyone fails to start up.
i had not test another firmware versions.
But everything indicates that the problem is in the driver.
Whatever you need, ask it.

Howdy, and thank you for helping to improve Ubuntu by opening this
ticket.  Do you have a specific reason for suspecting that this problem
is caused by the firmware and not by the kernel drivers?  Have you tried
other versions (of either the kernel or firmware)?
