Do you mean Ubuntu 10.10? You can find the version by going to the System menu -> 'About Ubuntu' or by typing 'lsb_release -r' in a terminal window and pressing enter.

Yes, I did mean Ubuntu 10.10.

So, how do I get it to work?

There is a proposed update to fix this which should be available shortly. If you cant wait, here is what i did to get the updated package.

1.Open the update manager, you'll find it in System -> Administration.

2.Click on Settings.

3.In the Updates tab, make sure the 'Proposed updates' option is checked.

4.Click close and select Reload in the dialog that pops up.

5.Now, deselect all updates, except for the kicad package. You can do this by right clicking on the list and 'Untick all'. Then scroll through the list to find the kicad package and tick it.

6.Select Install Updates.

7.When finished, go back into Settings and disable 'Proposed updates', then 'reload'.

That should be it.

There is probably a faster or better way, but thats how i did it and it worked.
