Bug Description

After a while (randomly), KDE stops reponding. The mouse still moves, but clicking on a widget doesn't work. The only thing I could do, is pressing CTRL-Alt-F2. in the console, everything works fine.
I run kubuntu 10.10 32bit. /var/log/messages doesn't show something suspect.

Perhaps it's X.

I found out, that it is due to the flash player. Each time I launch a video in youtube, afteer a few moments, the mouse doesn't click anymore->no response to clicking.

On first try to uninstall completely and then reinstall flash plugin non free.
If not solve then try reconfiguring X at login screen switching to a console and typing
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

Either the reinstall of flash plugin nonfree, nor reconfiguring X doesn't help.
The error still exists after a while of playing a flash video.

I found out, that it even appears if firefox isn't running at all.
It's like the left button of the mouse is always pressed without being released.
I replace the mouse, but it still appears.

When I switch the buttons of the mouse in System Settings -> Input Devices ->Mouse->Button order left handed, I can work normally with the Buttons left and right changed.

in a terminal (vt2) apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-mouse 663203 doesn't work. It gives the error message:
Error connecting to Launchpad: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'makefile'
You can reset the credentials by removing the file "/home/alex/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials"

But there is no credentials file.

Recently, the error appeared playing a video in vlc.

As I said above 'apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-moue 663203' gives an error message. After a while, the following message appears:
Error connecting to Launchpad: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'makefile'
You can reset the credentials by removing the file "/home/alex/.cache/apport/launchpad.credentials"Error connecting to Launchpad: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'makefile'

I attached a mouse with different branding, a Microsoft mouse. Previously, I had attached a logitech mouse.

Since then, the problem doesn't occour at all.
But what's the difference between a microsoft mouse and a logitech mouse? Is it due to the driver?

I disabled my soud card (onboard) and everythings worked well. I didn't have any problem. So it has to do something with the sound system or it's driver. Does this help you, Fabio?
