Bug Description

Seconds after " Sub-process/usr/bin/dpkg returned error code 1" message was read and I clicked ok, the installer crashed.
I cannot attach the files /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman as the screen has frozen.

The version I am trying to install, ubuntu-10.10-desktop-amd64.iso came from the link on www.releases.ubuntu.com/maverick to d35x5jwfquk1.cloudfront.net

Regards
John

I do believe this is a duplicate of bug 709905, if you'd like to check that out, it has a syslog which has a similar issue.
