Alt+F1 does not call Cardapio but normal menu

Pressing Alt+F1, the standard shortcut to open the menu, does not open Cardapio when it is the only menu in the panel but the normal Alt+F1 menu.

The guy who reported it to me expected Cardapio to open. (I didn’t think of using Alt+F1 to open it before but it certainly makes sense, so confirmed.)

Ok, I think we can make Cardapio behave as follows:

If Cardapio is running in launcher mode or running without Gnome:
- Use the shortcut key from the Cardapio preferences window. (Default = Super+Space)

Otherwise:
- Use the shortcut key from the Cardapio preferences window. (Default = Super+Space)
- *And in addition* use Gnome's main menu shortcut, which can be changed with the "Keyboard Shortcuts" app. (Default = Alt+F1)

Plus we should add an option in the config file to disable the use of the Gnome main menu shortcut (in case some people are using Cardapio along with Gnome's default menu)

I am not exactly sure if I get it. What I’m saying is basically just:
Press Alt+F1 → open Cardapio, in any case

Cardapio is a menu replacement after all.

Oh well, and with the command launcher plugin it is also a replacement for Alt+F2 (Run Application). ;)

By default it should use the key combination set in gnome shortcuts. The preferences window should offer a checkbox "use custom shortcut" and then show a button to set another combination using the default gnome "Edit shortcut"-dialog. At least thats the behavior I would expect.

^ Yes, that's what I *would* do if we were releasing Cardapio for the first time today.

But because we already have hundreds of users who expect their Cardapio keybindings to be respected, I think the best solution is to do exactly what you say but with the checkbox *checked* by default. And the "custom shortcut" should be the user's current Cardapio keybinding.

This way, both Alt+F1 and the user's custom shortcut would open Cardapio.

Please don't trigger cardapio with ALT+F1 by default. Cardapio is not fully stable and has some bugs, e.g. some wine apps don't load with it, bug 603485. It's good to have ALT+F1 to trigger the classical menu as a replacement.
