Bug Description

After upgrading to Maverick from Lucid, I started experience the following issue: pressing any extended key on my keyboard (e.g. XF86Documents, XF86Favorites, etc) causes my left mouse button to become disabled. I can no longer click anything!

My keyboard is a wired "Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000" that is set to "Generic 105-key (Intl) PC" in keyboard options.

I am experiencing this bug using Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600. It occurs both after upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10 and after doing a fresh install of 10.10, both scenarios were all 64 bit. I'm using Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0.

I would be happy to provide any additional info necessary to get this issue resolved.

I should add that I am not using a Microsoft mouse (it is a notebook "Snappy Smart" mouse by Speedlink), so this bug is probably independent of the mouse make.

I can reproduce the issue using the nouveau driver instead of nvidia.

I can validate that it does not appear to be mouse specific. I switched to another mouse and still ran into the error.

As for the video drivers, I received the error using both whatever drivers are loaded by default and the proprietary ATI drivers.
