Bug Description

The Kworld UB435-Q (an inexpensive USB ATSC/QAM TV tuner, USB id 1b80:a340), is not supported in Ubuntu 10.04, or the kernel.org 2.6.32 that it is based upon. Support for this tuner was recently added to the Linux DVB sources. Please cherry pick these commits so that this tuner will work in 10.04:

http://git.linuxtv.org/media_tree.git?a=commit;h=804258c95f9b782b1916eeb4fe280b119ad5b152
http://git.linuxtv.org/media_tree.git?a=commit;h=7e48b30af033076c85ab48a8306b5588faf5fb4b

Adding support for this tuner would help people avoid re-compile the DVB drivers from source (and hence being afraid to update their kernel).

Thank you.

I have successfully cherry picked this driver into linux-source-2.6.32 on my Lucid system. It works well. Patch attached.

Hi Andrew,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry. Of course the driver works fine in the latest upstream kernel.
Somebody else provided a patch.

Just apply the patch. Its not that hard.
