Bug Description

Hi. I have used Unetbootin to boot a ISO created with remastersys since June with success.
From one day to onother, it seems that we are no more able to reproduce the process and the Live USB card that we produce are not working anymore.

We receive a "Missing Operating System" at boot, then the computer go on booting from another drive.

I have no idea about what could have generated this problem.
I have also verified that the verty same card can actually boot from one out of six computer I tried out. Nothing to do and "missing operating sistem" message for all the other five.

How can I solve this problem? What kind of information you need in order to help me out?

Thanks.

I can confirm this issue is present too.

Unetbootin Host Machine: Early 2011 Macbook Pro
Unetbootin Version: Mac 563
Distros Attempted:
- Ubuntu Server 10.04 x86 (iso)
- Ubuntu Server 10.04 x64 (iso)
- Ubuntu Server 10.04 net install x86 (selected in menu)
- Ubuntu Server 11.04 x64 (iso)

Result in all cases is "missing operating system" displayed on attempt to boot. I have attempted this on several motherboards, Gigabyte Desktop Boards & Intel Server Boards, all with the same result.

I should note that I am testing this on Mac OSX Lion.

I can also report some other strange behavior with very bad consequences.

I made an ubuntu 10.04 USB disk (with persistence)
and then in windows I edited syslinux.cfg using wordpad (which I know I shouldn't have done due to CR/LF difference).

When I booted of the USB I got this error BUT my flash drive's data was also destroyed.

There was no partition and when I opened the volume with hex editor I saw that it had "Missing operating system error" and a lot of zero bytes on the beginning as if the data was not written just to the screen but, also to the USB volume.

I have an intel G41 chipset mobo if that is important...

Also, I probably have an old version of unetbootin, from Ubuntu 10.04
