Bug Description

Binary package hint: empathy

Description: Ubuntu maverick (development branch)
Release: 10.10

empathy:
  Installed: 2.32.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.32.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 0

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I've used Empathy for many months to connect to my Google Apps Talk service. Now, in Maverick, with the same settings I get a "No reason specified" error when I try to connect. My other Google Talk accounts work fine but this is a Google Apps service for my domain. I haven't changed any config on either end.

This is not a standard Google Talk account and so is not a duplicate bug. Google talk service works fine for my standard gmail accounts, but this is Google Talk for my domain http://www.google.com/apps/.

I have talk.google.com as the server as it's what I used in my config on Lucid.

I've confirmed that it's not a setting on Google's side as I can connect to it perfectly with Pidgin. I can import that account from Pidgin to Empathy and I get the same error. "No reason specified".

This is not a duplicate of #649561. It only affects Google Apps.

The workaround for #649561 doesn't apply here.

Hmm, connection achieved, with same config values. Writing this off as network error on Googles side or an update to Empathy.
