When you choose "Generate Report", it crashes immediately or when you click the "Generate" button?

Also, if you choose something else (such as Summary or Users) from the "Computer" category, does it crash too? If it crashes, this happens when you click something from the "Devices" category, then click on something from the "Computer" category?

Depending on your answers, this bug may be already fixed on the development version, which is not packaged yet. So you may either wait for it to be packaged or compile it yourself from a SVN snapshot.

when generating a report it does not crash until after i have choosen a file to save in and clicked save. it creates an empty file.

clicking on summery or users does not result in a crash

all the entries in devices make it crash (sorry i had not tried them all befor)

As suspected, this has been fixed upstream.

It may take a while to be packaged, so you might try compiling it yourself (unfortunately I don't have a PowerPC machine handy to provide an autopackage) from a Subversion snapshot.

I also just have reported the bug tonight with a crasg report.
I have compiled it (0.4.1) from sources on edgy powerpc, ./configure && make && make install, no warning nor error, installed (by default) into /usr/bin/ (the icon hardinfo in application menu disappeared, replaced by "system information (hardinfo)").
After compiled : same behavior = crash for processor, pci, usb etc.

Are some newer sources available ?
(I don't have subsertion, just using apt and by hand)

thank's

A "me too", but I don't have a PowerPC, just a AMD Athlon XP-M 2500+.

Only need to click on PCI, no "report button" click is necessary, just crashes.

Will attach an strace outfile (last few lines), trouble seems to begin with the printers section of the detection, as some CUPS http traffic is logged just before the crash (see my next post here).

Hope this helps.
