Using the system testing applet to create a google talk account, Able to enter all details needed for the account set up but once you finish this bug popped up.

Not only it crashes, after that the newly created account is inoperable.

As a workaround you could create a Jabber account with your Google Talk credentials and enter "gmail.com" as a resource.

Alternatively - just use Pidgin until this is fixed.
