Bug Description

On installing samba through synaptic installation hangs, after reboot crash report on kernal. Trying to access synaptic again requires clearing of dkpg problem in libpam-smbpass. All appears installed but when using nautilus to create share it closes unexpectedly. However share seems to have been created when nautilus restarted.

I could not mimic the samba installation failure nor the nautilus failure in Maverick using root.

I can reproduce this bug. It is not synaptic hanging, rather samba.postinst. If you kill the process, the installation will continue, and samba seems to work fine.
