Bug Description

re: Ubuntu 10.04 server i386

Does not boot from Compaq Smart 2/P RAID Array Controller.

Installation terminates ok, without errors.
Created partitions shows in gparted of Live CD and are ok.

But, when booting from such array, the following erros is shown: "Out of disk", the system halt and does not load.

The identical installation works well with Ubuntu 9.10 and former. The problem arises with 10.04 release.

This problem happen even with recognition of the RAID disk created with parted utility... il fact, there is a "solution":

- launch Windows XP installation
- erase the RAID Array (logical unit) with Windows installation option, suppress any partition
- create new partition table, format it as the NTFS unit
- install Windows XP
- relaunch the system and install Debian or Ubuntu.....

this way, it works.

so, the problem is somwhere in the partition table of the Array, not only with grub...
